Christian Gottlieb Schick (* August 15th 1776 in Stuttgart , † May 7 1812) was a German classisist painter. His history paintings, portraits and landscapes were dominated by romantic tendencies.

He began to study painting in 1787 at the Karl High School in Stuttgart as a student of Philipp Friedrich von Hetsch. He continued under Johann Heinrich Dannecker, and, finally from 1798 to 1802 in the studio of Jacques - Louis David. Between 1802 and 1811 he lived in Rome, where his painting was influenced by romantic subjects. His portraits are characterized by a high degree of awareness.
